The Ethnic and Jazz Music Festival Palmjazz is an initiative that has been taking place in Gliwice and in other cities since 2010. Up till now, five editions have been organised with the participation of over 300 artists from five continents. The festival that represents jazz, ethnic music, classical and electronic music consists in concerts, recordings, jam sessions, symposiums and workshops.
The greatest artists who have taken part in the festival are John Scofield, Avishai Cohen, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Adam Makowicz, Paolo Fresu, Randy Brecker, Al DiMeola, Mike Stern, ŚLĄSK, Miroslaw Vitous, Joey Calderazzo, Al Foster, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Michel Portal, Louis Sclavis, Trilok Gurtu, Lonnie Smith, Jarosław Śmietana, Adzik Sendecki, Wojtek Karolak, Larry Grenadier, Richard Galliano, Bireli Lagrene, Włodek Pawlik, Terence Blanchard, Branford Marsalis, Stanisław Soyka, Aukso Orchestra and many, many others.
The festival's initiator, director and artistic director is Krzysztof Kobylinski, who has during the festival performed his own music projects, namely: "Sagrada Familia", "Cords" and “ The Orchestra”.
